Easter 2014: Time to Reflect and Spend With Family

What is Easter?

Easter is my favorite time of the year. It is a time to reflect on the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross. He died for you and for me. It is by His death that we can freely receive the gift of Salvation. Salvation is like ticket to Heaven. You do not have call TicketMaster to order your ticket. All you have to do is pray and ask God for Salvation and confess that Jesus is His son. Pray? Prayer is conversation between you and God–just like you have a conversation with a friend. Yes, is that easy. When you ask God for Salvation, your name is added to the Lamb’s Book of Life.

What happens after asking God for Salvation? We have to surrender ourselves daily, bare our cross, and do God’s work. In Matthew 28:19-20, God tells us to go out and tell everyone about Him, what Christ did on Calvary’s cross, and what Christ wants to do in their life.

Remember that Salvation is free; it costs you nothing. But the journey will cost you everything. We have to surrender who we are and what we have so that we can focus on living for Christ. Also remember, without Easter, Christmas would be meaningless.

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. – Galatians 2:20

Lord, hep me to live for you, surrender myself daily, and work to share with others about who You are and what You have done for me. Amen.
